Dr David Hill's letter to us about the Local Government Ombudsman
Although I have never met Anne Seex or directly communicated with her, I have with her Inspector John McCullough. Based on this experience I can say with some certainty that Anne Seex is certainly not fit for purpose, as at the end of the LGO's involvement with a case against Kirklees Council, nothing happened at all for the residents of Coombe Road, Huddersfield, HD3 4SF. Indeed, this is even after Mr. McCullough put on record to the Council that he never wished his car to turn around ever again in Coombe Road and gave intimation that Kirklees Council should do something about the dire state of the situation.
The problem is also, that people like Anne Seex do not get out into the real world as they are cocooned by the system that they represent and are insular to the basic problems that EU citizens face daily. Indeed in the case of Coombe Road, there are high risk health and safety issues for elderly pensioners, some nearly 90-years of age and registered blind. Indeed, an 88-year old blind person only last week stumbled on the footpath due to the bad state of affairs of Coombe Road.
It appears with Anne Seex's department that what it will take is a death for Kirklees Council to do anything about the situation. That shows just what power the LGO has, none ! Anne Seex and the LGO should be abolished as they are a toothless wonder that simply drains even more of the taxpayer's money out of the public purse on moribund, non-performing (in human terms) and wasteful work. Indeed this quango should be replaced by a body that is totally independent and run by people from outside the local authority system, as she was a part.
Therefore, until we get real accountability, the LGO will just stay as a useless organization only there to 'try' and pacify the people and basically no more. Overall therefore, it is a complete con on the British people and EU citizens. It is a lap-dog of the government and a complete waste of public money. Our experience bears this out completely so people should basically know that they are absolutely wasting their time, efforts and money with this totally ineffective quasi-governmental body.
This is most probably the reason why Anne Seex was chosen for the job in the first place, as former or current local government chief executives, have never had to run a business to stay afloat without the continual guarantee of government financial backing – a parallel universe that cannot fail, just like the bankers and where there is seemingly a bottomless pit of money for ineffective and totally wasteful organisations. In the real world they simply would not exist.
