Christmas Message to the Local Government Ombudsman
The way you have conducted the investigation since April 2006 (I put my complaint in in mid February 06) I find a disgrace. The way the first investigator disappeared after about September 2006 and I was not even notified until December 2006 (over 2 months later) is a disgrace and shows utter incompetence and contempt for the complainant.
Strange how this man disappeared after he had come up with a decision that said I had no complaint against Lambeth. After this when I provided a letter from my dentist that contradicted the lies of these housing officers he then disappeared and stopped working on my case! WHAT A DISGRACE! I was then left at a loose end, while still being harassed, sleeping on the kitchen floor and having to take sleeping pills while Mr Felton disappeared and simultaneously applied for my medical notes without my consent, when I had proof Lambeth Housing officers were liars! So my complaint was put on hold for another 6 months while Mr Felton mysteriously disappeared and at the same time I was not even consulted about major breech of confidentiality!
A settlement was rushed through in Feb 2007 (By Investigator Mr Pollard) in which missed major issues and let off Lambeth Council management with making my life hell! I have complained ever since and was given a joke of a internal review that just wasted more of my time; THAT CONCLUDED IN EARLY OCTOBER 07. Yes I was given a miserable £500:00 and a insincere bog standard apology, that does not cover the fact that I have had to sleep on the kitchen floor since August 2006 to December 2008!
Over this period I was being persistently harassed by the elderly man below me by his deliberate nocturnal harassment on 4th August 2006 I was driven out of despair to sleep in my kitchen on a single mattress. I have slept there ever since that is 2 years 5 months.
I do this because after being harassed and driven insane by this old man I have become 100% sensitive to the traffic noise 15 to 20 metres from my window at the bus stop and the traffic lights on a major road into London. The kitchen is the quietest place in the flat. Also to get into my bedroom I have to walk over loose floorboards, one which even hits a pipe and makes it bang if stepped on fully. I have told the LGO all about this an it was ignored right to the last minute when Mr White said "IF" notice "IF" the council could afford it then the floorboards could be fixed! WHAT A JOKE TO SAY "IF!" THE COUNCIL SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORCED BY LAW TO REPAIR MY FLOORBOARDS! As the creaking floorboards are one main reason this old man can bang with accuracy and stop and interrupt my sleeping as he can hear the floorboards creak as I go in to my bedroom. I also provided 3 letters from other tenants saying they had all had problems with creaking floorboards and that 1 of them had paid for the repair himself back in the 90s!
I have told this to the LGO and it was all ignored. Which is why I say (reluctantly) the LGO are an evil incompetent organisation that back the council over major incompetence.
I know that all of this will be ignored by the LGO therefore that is another reason I called them evil! Because they have left me in this situation sleeping in the kitchen when I am paying full rent for a 1 bedroom flat! PROOF THEY DO NOT DO PROPER INVESTIGATIONS!
I will never sleep in my bedroom again this is not by choice but after years after being disturbed from sleeping! I stand in my bedroom now and I hear all the traffic and it's like sleeping on the pavement, I have been driven to this state of mind by this old man below me who has been totally let off for his actions. I believe this is because of his age and his race (same as the housing officers who lied about me and got off with it!).
The fact that the LGO left me in this situation for 2 and = years is another reason they are an evil incompetent organisation and I will complain about them till the day I die - as their decisions have had life damaging effects upon me and harmed my life. I have now have bad shoulders, bad back and stress at waking up sleeping in a 1 metre wide space because I was driven out of my bedroom by this harassment.
