OMBUDSMAN WATCHERS RESOURCE CENTREHeader

For the attention of Neil Hobbs, Assistant Ombudsman, York LGO office.

Dear Sir, I have just received your letter, which, regardless of what you say, is a whitewash. You have no reports from the Council, therefore, you cannot have investigated my complaint. It clearly states that the L.G.O must investigate complaints against council employees. Surely, breaking the law of the land continuously, is a criminal offence and as such is a maladministration.

My complaint was never about the footpath or the ability to walk it. My complaint was against council employees. As for the path, yes I have suffered injustice. I am not allowed to walk anywhere but on the Path 22 (definitive line). My path has been obstructed and is still obstructed. Still, it is clear that you do condone law breaking by council officials and that members of the public have no re-dress for such criminal acts, therefore those officials will continue to act with impunity.

You close by saying there is no evidence of maladministration by the council which could be said to have caused me any material injustice. How do you know this? You have no files to examine. Only a few e-mails from me. No statements, no other witnesses to speak to because Mr McColough did not want those details. The complaints system within Kirklees is ineffectual and 'looks after their own' I know this to be true through personal contacts.

It is a great pity that you put 'cost' as a priority over the law. No I do not want copies of my e-mails. I would have thought you would have had other documents on which to base a decision, obviously not.

Yours faithfully Mr X
