Email to Portsmouth CC (copied to the LGO) from the Complainant, dated 26th November 2010
| From: Keith Edmunds Date: 26 November 2010 13:30:57 GMT To: Michael.Lawrther Portsmouth CC Cc: Brian Miles Subject: Sale of Council properties to Council Officers and Members Dear Mr Lawther, COMPLAINT ABOUT POSSIBLE CORRUPTION As you probably know I have been trying to obtain information on the subject heading from Portsmouth City Council under the Freedom of Information Act for the last three years. During this time the City Council Freedom of Information Team have tried every trick to prevent me obtaining this information. The latest attempt is at the link below. You will see that they are still trying to prevent me from obtaining the information that I am entitled to by law. http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/sale_of_council_properties_to_pc_2#outgoing-95052 It would appear now however, that the information is held and consequently the conclusion can be arrived at that council properties have possibly been been sold to Council Staff and Members. This being the case, I must now insist that you, as Monitoring Officer with responsibilities to prevent council corruption, investigate these matters and reply to me in writing with the following information. 1. How many council properties were sold to Council Staff? 2. How many council properties were sold to Members? 3. Were these properties sold at below market value ? 4. Why were these properties sold in the first place? 5. Who authorised the sales and why? The timescale for this is the years 2000- 2006 inclusive. I trust you will reply to this complaint within seven days. An email reply will suffice. Thank you for your attention. Yours sincerely, Keith Edmunds |
